100th post, wherein Whisper tries to make some $$ for the holidays, with special guests HUMANWINE, Gogol Bordello, and Brian Viglione!
First!
THIS IS OUR 100TH POST!
We were holding off for something amazing and awesome, but I really really need to get this site out here.
I put off making an online store for a long time, but I have like no money to join in the secret santa the Dreadfuls are doing at TempleCon. Plus, I need new material to make more stock. So just trying to get that out there in the hopes that a few things might be taken off my hands. I really dislike having stuff from last season still with me.
If you can pass that site around to anyone you know who might want some steampunky earrings, chokers, bonsai, lolita hats, and so forth, I would appreciate it!
But that's the least important thing you want to hear about.
You want to hear about how Cap and I (and possibly the General if he can get down to NYC) are going to see HUMANWINE in New York at The Knitting Factory in Brooklyn on December 27th.
And you want me to invite you to come along, too, if you are in the area. ^_^
Well, consider yourself invited!
Tickets are only $8! Doors open at 7pm!
After HUMANWINE, if things work out, we may also join them for dinner. We might have dinner with M@ and Holly! Woot!
Plus, we're hoping to be able to hit up Gogol Bordello in NYC the day or two after them. They are playing Webster Hall December 27-29th.
Here are tickets for Gogol Bordello on the 28th!
The only thing that might stop us is the ticket price, which is like $33.
But then we have Clockwork, January 5th! Our steampunk dance night held on the first Tuesday of the month at the Radisson of Piscataway.
This time the theme is Steampirates Invade! We have DJ Baron von Crankshaft III returning, and a new DJ to give him some breaks. Plus the lovely Shadow Queen of "Psyche Corp" will be returning to sing for us, and SPWF performer Matt DeBlass will be bringing sea chanteys and songs of air pirates as well!
Last but certainly not least, we have a music video shoot at the end of the month we're filming with Brian Viglione of the Dresden Dolls fame. This video hopefully will include music by HUMANWINE, and will be an advertisement for Steampunk World's Fair.
This is so exciting! We cannot wait to dress Brian up in steampunk stuff. :D

something peculiar and awesome.
So, we started Steampunk World's Fair with the idea that we would treat it like an actual world's fair, and see if we could emulate that.
Because of our ability to let things evolve and change on their own, it has taken on it's own life and personality. I am overwhelmed and excited by this. Mostly because it seems to no longer be World's Fair. it is in fact changed into something better. Myself and Whisper have come up with an affectionate name for the even:
Steamstock.
It also has a bit of a Ren Faire feel to it, so that in fact seems to only make it BETTER for me. It's a Renisteam Faire. I don't know how we did that, but that's what it's becoming! The Names and Musicians that we have attending are fantastic, and are serving as it's own drive for World's Fair and the excitement around it. I haven't even gotten to the attendee list, and who is going to be there making this thing even MORE fun!

My life is kickin' names and taking ass right now. IN THAT ORDER.

So I'm working on a project for Steampunk World's Fair, but I need your shiny steampunk pictures! Pictures of you- if you are going to SPWF next May- doing whatever as long as it's steampunk. Send me your best picture, the shinier brassier the better.
Also, don't make it a far-away shot. Close up is best.

Book 'em, Dan-o!
Everyone should go book their hotel rooms for Steampunk World's Fair!
First things first: when you book your hotel now, you end up with likely a better room location ^_~
Then, you get a room that is actually AT the Radisson. If this hotel fills up- and it WILL fill up long before May 14th- there will be an overflow hotel. But that's just not the same, guys! Plus you'll need to get over from that hotel. It really just will be in your best interest, since we still have room, to get your hotel now. ^_^
Plus, when you get your room now, you help us out. See, every room we sell, that proves to the hotel that we have people interested in coming to this event. While we KNOW a lot of people are planning on going, that doesn't mean the people who are hosting us do. ^_^ So, the more people who book now, the more likely the hotel will let us do all the fun, crazy, wacky things we have planned- because they know we have a great party coming their way!
Let's do this thing! Help us sell out the Radisson of Piscataway faster than anyone else!!
