Fingers crossed that stars align

Won't jinx it by talking about it too much, but I may have some good news tomorrow. Send some good vibes up Maine's way. And who knows, this time tomorrow, I may be making another update! ^_^

Much love,

Down to the wire

The Icarus is a fickle mistress, I'll give her that. So we have until the 24th to sell the Grey Gull (my car) or otherwise be out the perfect road-traveling vehicle and back to square one! My life has an expiration date in that department, seeing as I'm homeless and jobless... So I have to make this work! XD

I have had two people mention interest in my car, one in NH and one in ME. But I have yet to hear back from either of them after our initial contact. I'm debating dropping the asking price once more, but probably not until Wednesday. I'll give it a few days first at the reduced price (took $500 off.) I really can't go much below that since I need to pay for the RV, then the paperwork for the road and fixin' her up to make the insides shinier. I, personally, need to pay back the people I owe and have a bit to survive for a while, plus for when things inevitably break on-board Icarus. That last part is the part I'm dipping into as the price goes lower. I can survive on very little, but I'd rather have a little left hanging around for initial gas money and on-road repairs. There is a point where I can't go any lower, you know?

I'm heading to Rapture's in Maines tomorrow night or Tuesday morning. It's been a nice reprieve up here in Hampton, hanging with the Baron, Smittenworth, Lucretia, the Captain; and now Ayleen and Smittenworth's girl have shown up to hang as well. I read some tarot the other night and I'll likely read again tonight, for the newbies. It gives me some good practice.

People seem to generally enjoy my readings, which I've been considering more and more as interpertations and less as readings. You draw the cards, I just give you some info on what you're trying to tell yourself. ^_^ Hopefully, on the road, I'll find a use for this skill I've been developing over the years, from not only my work in tarot but also in astrology, crystal work, dream interpretations, elemental research, and palmistry. I'm fascinated with how the more I learn about different kinds of divinations, the more I can apply it to tarot. I feel much more confident with each new bit of information I gather.

But that's about all from this end. The 24th of February or bust on the Icarus! I'm confident she'll wait for us, I just don't want to keep her waiting too long. A lady is still a lady after all. And while she's getting on in years and need a little work to keep her going, Icarus may be the best lady in the Dreadfuls. Classy and trashy, but just the right mix. ^_~

Snag. You're it!

The selling of the Grey Gull hasn't gone as smoothly as I'd've hoped. I had a few biters mid-week last week, but then they ditched. Today I activated my phone tree, told them to activate theirs, and so far nothing. It's only been a few hours, but I was hopeful. Though a friend from my first job ever, back 10 years ago, said his mum might know someone at work, so she is going to ask tomorrow. Hope, hope, hope!

But! I did manage to get the paperwork for ICARUS plates. I'll put those in as soon as we have the RV.

Rapture is coming up tomorrow to help me get the items I'm taking on the road from my old apartment to his place. Then we'll be here in Hampton Beach (oh hi! Did I not mention? I was staying in Milford with the Baron and Smittenworth, but now we're up house-sitting in Hampton). We're trying to get a few of the other Dreadfuls, like the Captain, the General, Lucretia, and Verbana, up to have a small gathering. Unfortunately, Doc has already said he can't make it. Boo!

So that is where the RV stands today. Need to sell the car. May need to put down a retainer if the gent so decides. Oh, and I need to double check with Rapture, but I think we're moving it to his yard and not the Captain's brother's. Said brother will help us work on it at Rapture's, which is nice of him.

It all comes down to, I may not be in Maine tomorrow. I may not be there until the weekend, or next week, or next weekend. It is bothersome, because every day I am not up there is extra time on our departure date.

This bird's got to fly, but she'll fly on her own time it seems.

"Things are gonna change, I can feel it"

We all just got in from TempleCon this weekend, which was effin' amazing. But what you all want to hear about are the emails I got from our guy in Maine with the Icarus.

So! The gent has put in all the things which needed to be put in, including the extra $26 worth of parts (cheap!!) that will help it pass inspection. He is going to hear from the inspector guy he is getting out to it today or tomorrow, so hopefully the inspector will get there tomorrow.

He also offered to deliver it, since he has a trailer, to deliver it somewhere since that may be easier. Now we just have to figure out when and figure out where to.

At this point, I think Rapture and I may head up there Thursday or over the weekend to make the purchase- assuming I can secure one of the people interested in buying my car!- and then have it delivered later in the week. Perhaps to the Captain's brother if he has a place? We shall find out.

Whisper's To Do List:

* Sell car
* Get temporary "ICARUS" plates
* Get picked up by Rapture on Thursday
...-Get belongings from old apartment for RV
...-Get 'everyday living' stuff from the Baron's
* Shovel out a space for the Icarus at Rapture's
* Purchase Icarus
* Get Icarus delivered/take her ourselves
* Start working on her!

After that'll need its own to-do list, because we'll figure out what there is to be doing.

The inside of Icarus has been all cleared out, the gent said. And he patched up the rust spots on the wheel well, saying "It doesn't look like a million bucks" to which I laughed. We of all people do *not* need things looking like a million bucks! Patched up and "road-worthy" are all I'm looking for!

All right. I need to get back to work on selling things. But I just figured I would punch in and give an update.

Much love,

Whisper
